I should also note, there's no free trial of any version of Classic. After TBCC, Wrath Classic is almost certainly coming out (it hasn't been officially announced yet, but based on patch timing, it's probably gonna be late this year or early next year). TBC Classic launched in June 2021 and has been releasing new tiers of raids ad other content in phases over the last couple months. Blizzard's said that when SOM ends, you'll be able to freely transfer your SOM characters to Classic-era servers (but since the initial copies of servers were made, there's no way to transfer from Classic-era to TBCC) Blizzard hasn't said what, if anything, is coming after SOM, but it's widely assumed that there'll be another "season" with new changes. SOM is designed as a "seasonal" experience and as such were only ever intended to last about a year. New vanilla-Classic servers launched in November 2021 with some changes, such as faster leveling and more difficult and complex raids. The copies of servers that remained vanilla Classic are referred to as "Classic-era." They're basically dead though, everyone moved on to either TBCC or SOM.
When TBC Classic launched in June 2021, they copied all the old Classic servers in the state they were in as of that time, and applied the TBC update to one of those copies.
